The IDIBGI Drosophila "Fly Room" platform is a service that provides the IDIBGI community, as well as external users, access to Drosophila melanogaster as an animal model for biomedical research. The Drosophila model allows the study of a wide variety of disorders and genetic specificities, offering a low-cost animal model with fast results compared to more common animal models such as rats or mice.
The Drosophila "Fly Room" was created in 2019 and is part of the ISCIII Biomodels and Biobanks Platform (PISCIIIBB).
