The Drosophila "Fly Room" IDIBGI platform is a service that offers to the IDIBGI community, as well as external users, access to Drosophila melanogaster as an animal model for biomedical research. The Drosophila model allows the study of a wide variety of disorders and genetic specificities, providing a low-cost animal model and rapid results, if we compare it to the more common rat or mouse models.

The Drosophila "Fly Room" belongs to ISCIII Biobanks and Biomodels Platform (PT20/00199).

Currently, the IDIBGI Drosophila "Fly Room" can offer services of: cognition test, locomotion test, fat accumulation test, histology techniques and gene expression techniques.
