The Translational Genomics platform has its origins in the Gencardio Diagnostics laboratory, a reference laboratory in cardiovascular genetics that was accredited by the Generalitat de Catalunya in 2015 under CatSalut instruction 6/2015. All the experience gained from genetic studies of cardiovascular diseases was made available to other medical fields. The knowledge acquired over the years has been integrated into the platform to provide expert advice on genomic analysis for biomedical research.
