The IDIBGI can count on 14 new recruits thanks to the Investigo Programme

26 September 2022
  • Eight of these contracts have been awarded within the framework of the Investigo Programme of the State Public Employment Service (SEPE), the other six having been granted in the call for applications by the Agency for the Management of University and Research Grants (AGAUR).
  • The Investigo Programme, which aims to encourage the recruitment of young people in the research sector, is financed by the European Union with Next Generation EU funds.

The Girona Biomedical Research Institute (IDIBGI) will be able to hire a total of 14 young researchers thanks to the Investigo 2022 Programme, which is promoted by the European Union through Next Generation EU funds.

In Catalonia, the Investigo Programme has been articulated through two calls: the state call, from the State Public Employment Service (SEPE), was resolved in May. In this call, the IDIBGI obtained eight contracts (exp. 2022-C23.I01.P03.S0020-0000042). Subsequently, in July, the regional call was resolved, promoted by the Agency for the Management of University and Research Grants (AGAUR), in which six positions were awarded at the IDIBGI (exp. 2022 INV -1 00001). These grants are being translated into new job offers, which are published on the website "Work with us".

The Investigo Programme has been created with the aim of promoting the recruitment of young people under 30 years of age in the research sector. Specifically, the grant aims to facilitate the employment of young people with professional profiles of researchers, research support staff and other positions in R+D+i. Applicants must be unemployed and registered as job seekers.

Thanks to this aid programme, at IDIBGI we have a new way to encourage the start or continuation of scientific careers among young people and the creation of new jobs in our institution and, thus, continue to nurture a search for excellence.
