The Girona Biomedical Research Institute (IDIBGI) and the team from the restaurants Compartir and Disfrutar, represented by the chef from Roses, Mateu Casañas, have been honored with the Girona Talent Awards 2025, in a ceremony held this Thursday at the Josep Irla Auditorium in Girona. The awards, organized by Associació Catalunya Valley and Agència La Factoria, with support from Girona City Council, Girona Provincial Council, and the Chamber of Commerce, were given to "key figures from our region with international prestige".

Dr. Marga Nadal, director of IDIBGI, emphasized in her acceptance speech: “I am here representing the nearly 400 people who work daily in the various research groups, scientific areas, and management offices. They are the ones who make this collective success at IDIBGI possible. Our talent needs the new Girona Health Campus to offer better conditions and to foster even more talent, so that the results of our research can reach patients in our hospitals.”

In addition to the awards, the event featured talks by Albert Fort, lead singer of Di-versiones; Maite Esteve, director of the Catalunya Cultura Foundation; Marta Cortizas, sommelier at El Celler de Can Roca and recently named best in the country; Oriol Cardona, current world ski champion; and TV3 journalist Josep Maria Puig; as well as Josep Lagares and Alfons Cornella, recognized experts in innovation in Catalonia.
