The scientific challenge of the Aging, Disability and Health Research Group is the research of socio-demographic, clinical and epidemiological determinants of normal and pathological aging and disability and dependence.

Main lines of research

Line 1. Clinical characteristics and consequences of pathological aging associated with dementia

  • Cognitive deterioration
  • Psychological and behavioural disorders
  • Quality of life of patients
  • Burden and quality of life in caregivers for patients with disability and dependence

 

Line 2. Development, adaptation, validation and grading of psychometric instruments for the measurement of variables related to aging (normal and pathological) and disability

  • Neuropsychological tests
  • Result Scales and Questionnaires (quality of life and clinical evaluation)

 

Line 3. Epidemiology of dementia and aging

  • Epidemiological surveillance of dementia
  • Descriptive and analytical epidemiology of normal and pathological aging
